Samenvatting: Hack In The Box organiseert voor zijn vierde editie van de Hack In The Box Security Conferentie een Twitter competitie waarbij de winnaar ervandoor gaat met USD1337 en een VIP-ticket voor de conferentie. Dit jaar worden de keynotes verzorgd door niemand minder dan Edward Schwartz (Chief Information Security Officer, EMC / RSA) en Bob Lord (Director of Information Security, Twitter). De HITB Security Conferentie wordt dit jaar gehouden op 10 en 11 april in Amsterdam.

Amsterdam, 12 februari: Hack In The Box, de organisatie van de internationale Hack In The Box Security Conferentie, heeft vandaag de komst van de #HITB1337Giveaway aangekondigd. In deze competitie wordt Twitter gebruikt om een winnaar te bepalen die een VIP-ticket voor de triple-track security conferentie bemachtigt en $1337 om eventuele reiskosten te dekken.

Meedoen met de #HITB1337Giveaway is eenvoudig: Volg @HITBSecConf op twitter en plaats de volgende tweet: “This is my entry to the #HITB1337Giveaway! Please help me RT and win a VIP ticket to #HITB2013AMS and USD1337 - http://conference.hitb.org/1337.html“. Elke tweet telt als inschrijving en re-tweets van volgers verhogen de kans om te winnen. Deelnemers kunnen zo veel tweets plaatsen als zij willen in de periode van 11 februari tot 8 maart. Na de sluiting worden de tweets in een database geplaatst en zal de winnaar willekeurig worden gekozen.

#HITB2013AMS is de vierde editie van de HITB Security Conference in Nederland en zal ongeveer 500 geïnteresseerden, zowel uit Nederland als daarbuiten, samenbrengen in het Okura Hotel in Amsterdam.De keynote presentaties worden verzorgd door Edward Schwartz, Chief Information Security Officer bij EMC / RSA en Bob Lord, Director of Information Security bij Twitter. In de komende tijd wordt de rest van de sprekers bekend gemaakt. Leden van de Evad3rs hebben ook een paper ingeleverd en verwacht wordt dat zij hun onderzoek tijdens de conferentie zullen presenteren. Zij zijn verantwoordelijk voor de onlangs verschenen jailbreak voor iOS 6.1 en deze werd binnen een paar dagen meer dan 7 miljoen keer gedownload.

We’ve been offering student and community discounted tickets for over a decade, however this competition marks the first time that we’re not only giving away a VIP invite but also helping with the winner’s travel costs.”

Hij voegt hier verder aan toe: “We think the Twitter competition is an easy way for those who can’t afford to travel all the way over to The Netherlands to get a chance to attend and it’s also another way for us to ‘give back’ to the community and we like that.”
