HACKWEEKDAY
SPONSORED BY MOZILLA CORP
The 3rd annual 24-hour hackathon is returning to HITBSecConf2013 Kuala Lumpur this year with better challenges, great cash prizes, and few other surprises in line for developers. The quest to introduce the world to Asia’s best next generation developers, continues.
We’ve seen great projects being worked on in last year’s HackWEEKDAY with majority of them managed to turn their initial ideas into a full blown working demo within 36-hour! Some of them are:
DiCOM-WAVE – An open source DICOM image viewer with Microsoft Kinect as its control interface (HackWEEKDAY 2012 Winner!)
DNSSocial – DNSSEC Management Made Easy
TALEB – A unique social communication & collaboration platform made for students
Touch’N’Go Android Reader – An app which utlizies NFC-enabled phones to read MiFare cards
This year’s HackWEEKDAY will see a more focused approach. There will be THREE (3) main categories to hack on:
Mozilla FirefoxOS Mobile Apps
Facebook APIs or Parse back-end based Apps
Microsoft’s Windows 8 / Windows Phone 8 mobile operating systems Apps
‘DevSorcerer Season 2′ - http://aka.ms/devsorcerer is over and everyone could sign up to participate in HACKWEEKDAY for the Microsoft’s Windows 8 / Windows Phone 8 mobile operating systems category.
Developers are encouraged to propose an original project idea in order to stand a better chance in winning this year’s hackathon.
