Theo de Raadt is the leader of the OpenBSD project — a Unix operating system started in 1995 based on the original BSD codebase. The OpenBSD development process places a strong focus on security — the first few years were spent on auditing the entire source tree and inventing many security innovations. Since the source code is entirely free, we encourage projects or commercial vendors to take parts of our “best of breed” source code and make their products more secure. More commonly, the project is well known for producing OpenSSH. Theo lives in Calgary, Canada, from where he works with developers all over the world.
