Sebastian Vogl prefers to look at malware from a safe distance using virtual machine introspection (VMI). He currently is a senior research engineer at BedRock Systems where he is responsible for researching and implementing new VMI-based protection mechanisms. Before joining BedRock, Sebastian was part of the Fireeye FLARE team which allowed him to learn a thing or two about reverse engineering malware. In the meantime, Sebastian has more than ten years of experience in detecting malware and protecting systems using VMI. He holds a PhD from the Technical University in Munich, published his research in well-known academic conferences such as USENIX and NDSS, and was a speaker at BlackHat USA.
