The Dutch government has recently anounced restrictions on events exceeding 100 people until the end of March. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, there is no assured way for us or anyone to know what the situation will be like by the third week of April.
Because of this uncertainty, and out of an abundance of caution for our speakers, crew, volunteers and of course attendees, we have decided that it is in everyoneโs best interests to cancel HITBSecConf2020 โ Amsterdam.
It is challenging for us all as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, and in this climate of universal uncertainty, our priority is for the safety and health of everyone in the Netherlands, and for our delegates from all over the world. We thank the Dutch government for their support and advice during this time of unpredictability.
We know many of you will be disappointed by this news, as are our amazing team of crew and volunteers who have been working tirelessly to throw a great conference.
We value the support of everyone who has been working towards the making of this yearโs HITB - our vendors, the local authorities, the venue, and, most of all, our sponsors, speakers, and friends in the security industry. We look forward to getting the security community of hackers, makers, breakers and builders back together in the future.
We will be contacting all sponsors, speakers, trainers, exhibitors and attendees to work on next steps in light of this cancellation. We hope you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy during this trying period.
If you have any questions regarding the cancellation, you can also reach out to us at conferenceinfo@hackinthebox.org
