Presentation Abstract
Virtualization has emerged as the most disruptive datacenter technology of the last decade. Mr. Ingevaldson from IBM Internet Security Systems will discuss the emergence of virtualization as well as the many ways that it changes traditional security architecture as well as the ways it doesn’t. Virtualization will influence the security business much like it is reshaping IT. Mr. Ingevaldson will review the brief history of security in virtualization as well as comment on the next-generation security technologies for the virtualized datacenter.

Daniel Ingevaldson is Manager, Technology Strategy for IBM Internet Security Systems. Mr. Ingevaldson is responsible for long-term technology direction and planning. He has been employed with IBM Internet Security Systems since 1998 and has held positions throughout the organization. Previously, Mr. Ingevaldson was responsible for the North American Penetration Testing and Application Assessment consulting practice in the Professional Security Services (PSS) organization. Prior to his role in consulting, he managed the X-Force Advanced Research & Development Team. Throughout his career at Internet Security Systems, Ingevaldson has served as a media spokesperson and a security technology evangelist.
Previously, Mr. Ingevaldson was employed at Andersen Worldwide and Deloitte & Touche. Mr. Ingevaldson holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Purdue University.
